The Super Eagles are set to face Benin, Libya, and Rwanda in Group D of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The draw ceremony took place on Thursday in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the teams were placed into their respective groups.

The 2025 AFCON tournament will be held from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. This will be the first time in the history of the Nations Cup that the tournament will start in December and extend over the Christmas and New Year periods, following the Confederation of African Football (CAF)’s decision to adjust the tournament schedule due to the congested FIFA calendar.

The winners and runners-up from each group will qualify for the tournament, with the exception of the group containing hosts Morocco. Morocco will automatically qualify as hosts, and only the best placed of the other three teams in their section will secure a place in the tournament.
