The Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) says it is confident of victory when the Super Eagles take on Zimbabwe in their second game of the 2026 World Cup qualifying series.

ANFASSC has also expressed optimism that the country’s Under 20 female team, Falconets will conquer their Tanzanian counterparts in a World Cup qualifying fixture.

Three time African Champions, Super Eagles were forced to a 1-1 draw by Lesotho on Thursday at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in the series’ opener, but ANFASSC is upbeat that nothing will hinder the Jose Peseiro tutored side from soaring on Sunday.

In the words of the President, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi “Although the draw against Lesotho appears like a setback, but it’s an opportunity for the team to put in more effort in ensuring that the World Cup ticket is sealed”

“The players are aware that Nigerians want to see the team back at the World Cup after missing out in the last edition, so we are very confident that the disappointing result will spur the boys to give their best against Zimbabwe”.

Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi also charged the Falconets to show class and superiority when they host Tanzania on Sunday in Abuja.

The first leg of the clash ended 1-1 in Daree Salaam.
