The Authentic Nigeria Football & Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) have knighted philanthropist Ahmed Gambo Saleh, ESQ as one of it’s Patrons and Sports Personality of the Year- giving him a double honours on Friday in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Ahmed Saleh, Esq who is the Secretary of the National Judicial Council was decorated by President of the club, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi on Friday at Supreme Court complex in Abuja, following his philanthropical acts towards sports in Nigeria and activities of the ANFASSC as a sports fan club.
Saleh was also named as the Sportsman Personality of the Year due to his keen interest in sports ralated activities at the grassroots and generosity towards the ANFASSC activities in the last one year.
Born in 1969 in Hadejia, Jigawa State, Saleh is a legal luminary who holds LL.B, BL, LLM degrees with more than 20 years in management and administrative experience.
Saleh has previously served in several distinctive positions such as Secretary, Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee; Chairman, Chief Registrars of Nigeria Forum; Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Dutse Branch; Member, Presidential Swearing-in Committee.
He joins an exclusive list of sports loving personalities like Mallam Nasir El-rufai, Ooni of Ife Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and Esama of Benin Gabriel Igbinedion as Patrons of the ANFASSC.
ANFASSC National President, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi highlights the love for sports as the underlying merits of Saleh choice as Patron and Sports Personality of the Year.
“Your humble love and support for our club and sports in generally within our locality are the reasons we crown you today. You supported us with your esteem advise and encouragement for our #AFCON2023 campaign, despite your busy activities in the legal world,” Abayomi revealed.
Ahmed Gambo Saleh, Esq who was present among ANFASSC members during the #AFCON2023 in Côte d’Ivoire, reiterates that the honours bestowed on him will spur him to do more for the ANFASSC and grassroots sports development in Nigeria.
